The practice operates a triage system for all requests for treatment from our clinical staff. When contacting the practice the administration staff will ask you to give a brief indication as to why you wish to be seen – this helps the clinical staff to prioritise calls. Once added to the triage list, a member of our clinical team will contact you and discuss the best course of action – e.g. face to face appointment, telephone appointment or they may be able to deal with your issue at the time of their call.
Should you require treatment from our Practice Nurses, Treatment Room Nurses or Healthcare Assistants, we ask that you telephone the practice for a suitable appointment time.
Access
In keeping with Government Guidelines we aim to allow access to our clinical team within 48hrs. Sometimes this is not always possible, particularly at times of high demand. However, we endeavour to see anyone the same day if considered necessary.
Home Visits
Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. When possible, please try to telephone before 10.00am. A clinician will telephone you back to discuss the reason for the call. It may be that your problem can be dealt with by giving telephone advice, by asking a Community Nurse to attend or for arrangements to be made to send you directly to Hospital.
Obtaining Test Results
The Practice is duty bound to adhere to the Data Protection Act and therefore has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. To obtain your test results, you can telephone the surgery between 10am and 2pm. We can only give test results to the person to whom they relate unless they have given prior permission for the release of the results to a third party. Our administration staff are not permitted to give test results without the consent of a Doctor. For tests requested by secondary care, you will require to contact the Consultant who referred you for the test, to obtain the results if you do not have a follow-up appointment arranged.
